Dragon Week 2013
Here at Brazos Bookstore, we love dragons of all shapes and sizes, so we’ve decided to give these much-maligned creatures their very own DRAGON WEEK! From March 9th-16th, dragon lovers of all ages are welcome to come share in the celebration of our fire-breathing friends by participating in any of our events below. If you can’t make it to the events, stop by and check out our featured dragon display.

DRAGONS LOVE TACOS by Adam Rubin and illustrated by Daniel Salmieri
Featuring: Chi’lantro Taco Truck, Storytime, and Taco Related Crafts.

a tasty taco from one of Houston’s leading fusion food trucks, then
head inside to hear Adam Rubin’s hilarious, destined-to-be-classic story
of dragon gastronomic preferences. Finally, decorate paper tacos for
your very own dragon party!

THE NEVERENDING STORY by Michael Ende
Featuring: A celebration of Falkor the Luckdragon.
Help
create the Brazos Luckdragon by illustrating a dragon scale with an
example of a time you were lucky. When you’re done, try your luck by
guessing the number of dragon eggs in a jar! The individual who guesses
closest to the actual number of dragon eggs will win the eggs (read:
Jelly Beans) and a prize!

THE HOBBIT by J.R.R. Tolkien
Featuring:
A celebration of Smaug, that “most specially greedy, strong and wicked
worm." Enjoy a reading of “The Desolation of Smaug” by one of our very own
Brazos Bookstore booksllers. Then, put on your
Bilbo-the-Burglar hat and go on an epic treasure hunt throughout the
store.

Dragon Trivia
Featuring: You and your team, showing off how much you know about dragons.
Snacks,
drinks, and wine (for those of age) will be provided. Members of the
winning team will receive a prize for the depth of their obscure dragon
knowledge.
